Over the course of an internship during the summer of 2023, the team I was assigned to created a set of digital and printed handouts with information regarding small scale home gardening. Being in charge of digital asset creation and layout design for this project, it felt like quite the accomplishment when we found out at the end of the summer that our documents would be getting adopted by ISU Extension and offered to the public as resources.

The first document displayed in this file is the mockup of the brochure for square foot gardening. This design was created to resemble other brochures distributed by Iowa State Extension and fall in line with the university's branding policies. This specific document displays how to go about constructing an example 4x4 foot raised garden bed and how to go about planting specific crops within the system. Also listed in the different segments are facts and information on how the square foot gardening method can be beneficial to smaller homes.

Below the brochure display are a few vector images created in Adobe Illustrator to provide visuals alongside the information we put together in a 40 page document about Small Scale Gardening for households. The three primary styles that were chosen for this document was small scale in-ground row gardening, square foot raised bed gardens, and hydroponic systems. Alongside the pros and cons of each garden the document provided helpful information such as supplies and costs, planting and harvesting times, and where extra produce can be donated to community food pantries.
